This MLI session will be an engaging dialogue on health financing for equity in which Dr. Hernán Sandoval, former Executive Secretary of Chile's Health Reform Commission, and other Ministers of Health will be featured in a high-level discussion on health financing for equity and efficiency. This dynamic session will focus on how technical and leadership strategies can be employed to achieve more equitable health financing. The program also will include: (1) an overview of health financing for equity, (2) participation in a case-based discussion of strategies employed by the Chilean political leadership to introduce and implement a pro-poor health reform, and (3) an interactive discussion with Dr. Sandoval, who advised Chilean President Ricardo Lagos throughout this successful effort. Your participation in the session will offer you considerable opportunities to share your experiences and interact with other Ministers who are facing challenges similar to your own.
