From September 21-23, 2009, MLI hosted the Negotiating Health Development Leadership Training in Kathmandu, Nepal for the senior team from the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). MLI Nepal recently conducted a Negotiating Health Development Leadership Training Workshop for members of the Ministry of Health and Population. The workshop, facilitated by CMPartners, transfered to participants the leading theory, tools and techniques in the fields of negotiation, conflict management and communication with an emphasis on the practical application of intellectual technology in their everyday lives at the MOHP. The key documents of the training programme were all translated into Nepali to facilitate learning transfer. The workshop provided participants the opportunity to engage in individual and team negotiations and discussions, one-on-one with the CMParterns team and in groups using multi-party, multi-issue case studies.
A key resource for this MLI sponsored leadership training is the CMPartners and WHO publication, Negotiating Health Development: A Guide for Practitioners. This booklet is designed to be used at any stage in the health development process by anyone who may want to influence some aspect of that process. This book was translated from English into Nepali for the leadership training and a link to the Nepali version of the book will soon be available.
