At the Third High Level Forum, Ministers and agency heads endorsed the Accra Agenda for Action (AAA) to deepen implementation of the Paris Declaration and respond to emerging aid effectiveness issues. The AAA was prepared through a broad-based process of dialogue at both country and international levels: through the work of WP-EFF and its joint ventures, regional preparatory consultations, the partner country contact group, the Consensus Group, the Advisory Group on Civil Society, and the non-Development Assistance Committee donor group. The views of more than 80 partner countries, some 60 civil society organizations, all Development Assistance Committee donors, and many nontraditional providers of development assistance informed the AA. The investment of time, energy, and financial resources by all participants in this process resulted in an action oriented agenda that can support accelerated progress in aid effectiveness.
Even though I have worked in Sierra Leone in the past, the role of MLI Country Lead has given me the opportunity to build upon these previous experiences and to work closely with members of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), to support the implementation of health policies and reforms that they have prioritized.
