Global Health Initiative Policy Brief

Abstract

In 2006 the Global Health Initiative and the Africa Program hosted a roundtable workshop on the health imperatives for Africa and the need for the public and private sectors to cooperate in the provision of health care. This policy brief includes a list of conclusions and next steps reached by the participants as well as summaries of the three papers commissioned for the meeting on: Africa health trends; improving health efficiencies; and, expanding public-private sector partnerships.

    Even though I have worked in Sierra Leone in the past, the role of MLI Country Lead has given me the opportunity to build upon these previous experiences and to work closely with members of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), to support the implementation of health policies and reforms that they have prioritized.
